This female bobcat has been visiting the garden for about 2 ½ years now and we had high hopes that this season she would show-up with kittens. Unfortunately, this year’s “kitten” window is closing fast and if we don’t see any little ones soon, there was no 2021 litter.
The stump she is standing on is a favorite urine scent-marking spot. She does this to let male bobcats know when she is available and other female bobcats know that this is her territory.
At times, she seems to thoroughly enjoy rubbing in her scent while at the same time get a good scratch behind the ears!
