During 2022, I was able to add over 650 new animals to the GNG's list, bringing the new total to 1835 species! The majority of these new species were arthropods, but we were able to add two new birds (Northern Harrier and Rock Wren) as well as one new mammal (Southern broad-footed mole). A sampling of the species recorded during the past year are represented below.

Reaching 2000 species is no longer just a lofty goal, it's how soon will we will reach it. Incredible what a positive effect native plants can have on an urban ecosystem!
