Red-tailed hawks are considered a generalist predator, preferring to hunt animals that are abundant and easily caught. Being perch-hunters, they are often seen scanning an area for prey from a conspicuous branch and can take animals as large as rabbits.  Red-tails also enjoy a good soar, as this one was above the GNG.
